Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Society
A grant of Arms and Crest was made to this long-established body by Letters Patent of Garter, Clarenceux and Norroy and Ulster Kings of Arms dated 10 May 2010. The Society, which was founded in 1840, runs several musical ensembles including the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, and also runs the Royal Philharmonic Hall. The blazon is as follows:
Arms: Argent on a Fess between two Bars engrailed Azure a Bar engrailed Argent in Chief a Lion Passant Gules armed and langued Azure.
Crest: Upon a Helm with a Wreath Argent and Azure In front of a demi Sun in Splendour Or a Liver Bird wings elevated and inverted Sable beaked Or holding in the beak a Clarion also Gold Mantled Azure doubled Argent.
