Sir Peter Gwynn-Jones, KCVO, 1940-2010: The College of Arms reports with great sadness the death on 21 August 2010 of the late Garter Kings of Arms, who retired on 31 March this year, after a short illness.

Illustrated left are the Arms, Crest and Motto of Sir Peter, which were granted by Letters Patent dated 28 May 1971. They are blazoned:

Arms: Argent gutty de sang a Fret engrailed and molined at the mascle points Sable.

Crest: On a Wreath Argent and Gules A Coati sejant Sable collared and lined Or.

Jonathan Jason Kingsley: Garter and Clarenceux Kings of Arms granted the following Arms, Crest and Badge, illustrated left, to Mr Kingsley of the City of Oxford, by Letters Patent dated 2 October 2009. College reference: Grants 174/221.

Arms: Argent on a Pale between two Tilting Lances points upward Gules a Unicorn's horn point upwards Argent.

Crest: Upon a Helm with a Wreath Argent and Gules A Winged Unicorn sejant erect Gules supporting between the forelegs a Tilting Lance point upwards Argent.

Mantling: Gules doubled Argent.

Badge: A Unicorn's horn point upwards Argent fimbriated Or surmounted by a Spur Rowel Gules.
