New Appointments

28 November 2012

By letters patent dated 31 May 2012, HM The Queen has been pleased to appoint Michael Peter Desmond O'Donoghue, Bluemantle Pursuivant of Arms, to the post of York Herald of Arms.

In 1988 the College of Arms published the first volume of A Catalogue of Manuscripts in the College of Arms: Collections, a substantial 600-page volume covering the earliest unofficial collections and including what is sometimes called the Old Library. It was always envisaged that the Catalogue would have a parallel Records series, covering the official registers of the College's work.

Welcome to the thirty-third edition of the College of Arms Newsletter.

By decision of the College of Arms all proceeds arising from the sale of The Armorial of Haiti will be donated to the international effort for the relief of Haiti
after the calamitous earthquake of 12 January 2010.

The College of Arms Newsletter is produced every three months and sent automatically and free to those who subscribe. Other benefits for those who submit their names in this way include advance notice of College of Arms events, relevant publications, and media appearances.
